PROFESSIONAL USES OF SOCIAL MEDIA
ROBIN LIS
So what exactly is this page?

Hi! My name is Robin Lis, and I am a graduating senior at the University of Pittsburgh.
My passion for creation began at a young age; I took art and photography classes growing up, leading to the development of building a studio art portfolio with a concentration in portrait drawing. Throughout my years at Pitt, I realized my passion spanned broader than just studio art.

As a Marketing major at the University of Pittsburgh, I want to combine my love of creation with my passion for business.

I am working to obtain a major in Marketing, with a minor in German Language, Literature and Film, and a Public and Professional Writing Certificate. To see my previous work experience please visit my LinkedIn. I have experience in social media advertising, marketing research, and branding. I have also been published in HopCulture magazine; my piece can be read here.

Upon graduation, I will be working as an Assistant Merchant at Abercrombie & Fitch.

Below you can find my resident map and personal audit.

I found pictures from Robin’s Instagram after a quick Google search.

She has an active profile on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, all of which I found extremely easily. Her Twitter seems to be private. She is relatively active on Instagram where she posts very aesthetically pleasing posts, a lot of which are with friends. She isn’t very active on Twitter, where she seems much more passive. On Facebook she doesn’t post much text, but occasionally posts album of photos. However, she does seem to use it as a way to update her friends and family on happenings in her life, as she recently posted about a new internship she started. Her LinkedIn profile appears up to date, as it lists many jobs and internships.
Based on my inventory of her profile, I would first say that she is very social as she posts a lot of pictures with friends, specifically her sorority sisters. She also posts aesthetically pleasing pictures which leads me to believe that she puts in a good amount of effort to take great photos and then edit them well. All of the jobs and internships on her LinkedIn profile leads me to believe that she is very smart, professional and driven.
My strategy is a little different, as most all of my accounts are public, but for the most part we are active and passive on the same accounts. Moving forward I realize I need to update my LinkedIn and think about making my social media platforms more private.

My strategy is a bit different, as I used LinkedIn more and most of my accounts are private. I don’t think this will affect my strategy moving forward. However, I do think this shows the importance of updating activity on LinkedIn to show employers you are active.

My brand personality is is based on aesthetics and creativity. I like to use my social media, especially Instagram, to give off a certain perception of myself. In person, I don't think I have a brand personality specifically tied to me.My LinkedIn brand personality is very professional. My facebook and Twitter are both exclusively used for personal use.
